DeeAnn Wedemeyer-Oleson received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Drake University in 1999. She completed an ASHP-accredited residency in geriatric pharmacy practice at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boise, ID. She is the Director of Pharmacy and the Director of Clinical Safety, Quality, and Compliance at Guthrie County Hospital, a critical access hospital in rural Iowa. Dr. Wedemeyer-Oleson received the “Distinguished Young Pharmacist” and the “Innovative Pharmacy Practice” awards from the Iowa Pharmacy Association in 2004 and 2006, respectively. She was the inaugural recipient of the Distinguished Service Award” from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Section of Inpatient Practitioners in 2007. Dr. Wedemeyer-Oleson received the “Rho Chi Award” from the Drake University chapter of Rho Chi in 2019, and the “Young Alumni Achievement Award” from Drake University College of Pharmacy in 2007. She served two terms on the Iowa Board of Pharmacy, retiring as Vice-Chairperson in 2013. Dr. Wedemeyer-Oleson is an adjunct assistant professor for Drake University College of Pharmacy and was named “Preceptor of the Year” in 2002. She is currently pursuing a Master in Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree from Des Moines University.
