Dr. Charles Phillips is Professor of Pharmacy Administration and Associate Dean of Assessment and Curriculum at Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He holds many professional affiliations, serves on national committees related to pharmacy education, research and practice and has served the College and University in a number of leadership capacities, including President of the Faculty Senate, member of the University Planning Council, Department Chair, and Assistant Dean.
Dr. Phillips teaching philosophy is centered around making the classroom material “real” to the student . “When I use the lecture format, I try to keep it on an applied level by using many examples from pharmacy and other health care fields. I strive to build on these basic concepts through methods other than lecture, like class discussions and outside projects.”
Chuck continues to model leadership for students, faculty and staff through his ongoing involvement in the profession of pharmacy at the university, state and national levels. His most recent challenge as Assistant Dean of Assessment speaks to his commitment to a continuous improvement model that will continue to help make Drake a renowned provider of pharmacy education.
