Dr. Michael Andreski is Associate Professor of Social and Administrative Pharmacy in the department of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical, and Administrative Sciences at Drake University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. At Drake University, Dr. Andreski is a dedicated teacher and hopes to make his students more aware of the operational and management side of pharmacy. Additionally, he has been involved in the clinical side of pharmacy with experience in not only being a clinical pharmacist, but also a clinical manager, before taking on the task of being an Assistant Director of Pharmacy in hospitals for 20 years.
Dr. Andreski is part of various organizations such the Iowa Pharmacy Association where he is a research consultant for the Iowa New Practice Model Project, and also is a peer reviewer in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Iowa Pharmacy Association, just to name a few. The Iowa New Practice Model is a project using tech-check-tech for the filling of refill prescriptions to allow more time for pharmacists to perform patient care activities.
Upon obtaining his MBA while he was practicing pharmacy, Dr. Andreski became particularly interested in the economic side of pharmacy. It wasn’t until his PhD studies that he grew more interested in entrepreneurship and wanted to move pharmacy to being more patient centered. He says, “I hope to see DELTA Rx become a leader in working with practicing pharmacist to enhance their practices using entrepreneurial skills”.
