Kathy Gedler

Kathy Gedler received a Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis in piano from Simpson College, studying piano with Dr. Robert Larsen and Dr. Ronald Albrecht. She received a Master of Arts in Education from Viterbo University. Kathy served as a vocal music instructor in public schools for 34 years: Glidden-Ralston, Wapsie Valley, Johnston, and lastly West Des Moines Schools before retiring. She has served as MS/JH Repertoire Chair for Iowa Choral Directors Association, and for 20 years was accompanist for Heartland Youth Choir. Kathy teaches private piano lessons with Drake University Community School of Music, and is an accompanist/collaborative pianist for Drake University Music Theatre Department. In addition, Kathy regularly plays for church services. She enjoys reading, gardening, and being outdoors.
