Drake University Voice Intensive

Register for DUVI here!

The annual Drake University Voice Intensive (DUVI) is a summertime camp designed for young singers ages 14+ to develop their voices and build confidence in performing and auditioning. During this weeklong camp, students are invited to Drake University's campus to work with voice faculty and other professionals in the Department of Music. Students have the opportunity to learn vocal pedagogy, audition etiquette, acting, diction, discuss musical themes in classes, and experience performing in a studio setting in front of their peers.

Additionally, students have the choice to participate in opera scenes, acapella/jazz choir, show choir, or musical theatre scenes, while under the instruction of our renowned faculty during scheduled rehearsals. At the end of DUVI, students take what they have learned and host a final showcase in which friends and family are invited to attend. This final showcase also includes a choral performance that all students participate in.

DUVI will be hosted on June 9-15, 2024. For this upcoming summer, there will be a new overnight stay option available for interested students! If you have any questions about DUVI, please feel free to contact Dr. Alyssa Becker (alyssa.becker@drake.edu). We look forward to welcoming many talented voices this upcoming summer!
