Specialist in Education

The personalized Specialist in Education degree can support you in becoming a content area specialist through customized course plans tailored to your interests. 

Educational professionals that have already received a master’s degree in education can pursue content area expertise through Drake’s Specialist in Education program. Students can start this 30-credit program at multiple times throughout the year. Classes are offered fully online or on campus, and the program can typically be completed in less than two years.

Outcomes

You will gain additional content area expertise in Literacy, English Language Learners, or STEM. Graduates of our program are prepared to be instructional leaders and coaches, curriculum leaders, model teachers, and building mentors. Additional possibilities include additional state endorsements such as: K-12 Reading Specialist, K-12 English Language Learner, K-12 STEM Specialist, and more.
