Rich co-curricular activities and global learning opportunities are vital to students’ development, and Drake is home to several centers and institutes that provide hands-on experiences. Through events, academics, resources, and special programs, these entities play a critical role in bringing the world to campus.
The Principal Center for Global Citizenship brings a global perspective to campus and the broader Des Moines community through events and other activities. The center funds a number of student scholarships and faculty grants, and oversees the Global Practitioner in Residence program.
The Nelson Institute provides in-depth international knowledge and experiences to students interested in pursuing a career related to international affairs. The Nelson Institute funds several scholarship and grant programs as well as the Diplomat in Residence program.
