Pettengill Civic Leadership Academy for High School Students

July 7-9, 2025 | Drake University

The Donna and Darnell Pettengill is an exclusive opportunity for high school juniors to learn from scholars, policymakers, and thought leaders.

The Academy immerses 28 select high school juniors in an intensive and rewarding leadership development program that will give students the skills to stand out as student leaders. 

There is no cost to students to attend; meals, lodging, and fun evening activities will be provided. Students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the Drake University campus in Des Moines, Iowa.

National Civility Summit for Local Government: Collaboration Strengthens Communities

These relationships are fundamental to civility and are a first step in strengthening our communities. Join us to learn strategies and receive resources that will sharpen your ability to form mutually beneficial partnerships. Plus, you’ll spend time with other leaders, sharing best practices and learning from each others’ experiences.

This program is beneficial for local leaders such as mayors, city council members, administrators, clerks, and chamber officials.
