Uniform Bar Exam
A law degree from Drake prepares you to launch a legal career anywhere. Iowa has adopted the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), which allows you to take the bar exam in Iowa and then use your score in other UBE jurisdictions across the country.

Nicole Rommero is an attorney at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, where she handles cases ranging from domestic violence and prostitution to battery and assault with a deadly weapon.
Phillip Maroc, Class of 1992
Senior Legal Counsel, Adobe Systems, Inc.
San Jose, Calif.
Phillip Maroc built his career in Silicon Valley. He is now senior legal counsel at the multinational computer software company Adobe Systems Inc., which created well-known products such as Photoshop and Acrobat.

Joan McKown has had an impressive career in securities law, from the longest-serving chief counsel in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Division of Enforcement to partner at the global law firm Jones Day.

John Michelich has prosecuted cases from cocaine smuggling in Puerto Rico, to crimes against humanity during the Bosnian War, to high-profile bank embezzling.
