The following terms and conditions apply to the use of text messaging by the University Advancement department at Drake University.
Purpose
SMS text messages sent by University Advancement will be used to support alumni relations and development outreach efforts, including:
Notifications and reminders relating to events, activities, and volunteer opportunities hosted by University Advancement.
Outreach regarding donations or potential contributions to Drake.
Opt-in
Users may opt-in to receiving text messages (i.e., SMS messages) by texting JOIN to 515-481-5188.
Eligibility
You must be 13 years or older to receive messages from Drake. By providing your mobile telephone number(s) to Drake, you are agreeing to receive messages and representing that you are eligible to participate. If you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to receive messages.
Messaging Costs
Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. When you opt-in to receive SMS messages, you are responsible for any carrier fees such as data plan charges, text messaging charges, tolls, out-of-area roaming, and other charges. Messaging frequency per month varies. Check with your mobile operator for details on receiving text messages (SMS).
Carriers
Note that SMS communications from Drake may not be available through all mobile carriers. Mobile access and text message delivery is subject to your mobile carrier’s network availability and such access and delivery is not guaranteed. Drake is not responsible or liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
STOP/Opt-out Information
If you wish to opt-out of text messages from University Advancement, text STOP to 515-481-5188 at any time. Please note that opting out will remove you from all future text communications with University Advancement.
Privacy Statement
Your use of the SMS messaging service is governed by Drake’s Privacy Statement. Drake will not ask you for, nor should you provide, personally identifiable information, passwords, or any other confidential or sensitive information in SMS messages. Except as permitted by Drake's privacy policy, Drake does not share your information with third parties. All mobile information you share with Drake will remain confidential and will only be used by Drake representatives to assist you in a more efficient manner. Drake does not share phone numbers with external sources.
