Students also can work on the award-winning campus publications: The Times-Delphic, Drake Magazine, Drake Political Review, and Drake Broadcasting System streaming radio programming. There is a literary magazine and humor magazine as well.

There is a nationally recognized student chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, as well as an ad club.

SJMC students frequently do communications work for Drake Athletics and University Communications and marketing, and are active in student government and residence life.
