The marketing major provides both a theoretical understanding and a managerial perspective. Our curriculum exposes you to the diversity of marketing activities and provides an understanding of marketing’s interaction with other areas of an organization.
Courses in the major develop an understanding of marketing strategies, the process of exchange, and the role of relevant information in decision-making. Experience with diagnosing and analyzing marketing problems, as well as developing and implementing courses of action, is emphasized.
Zimpleman marketing students prepare for professional careers in marketing management, product management, marketing research, consumer analysis, advertising management, selling and promotion, brokerage, and related positions.
The marketing minor is open to all Drake students and is an excellent enhancement for other business majors or non-business students who can apply marketing to their primary major. It provides marketing knowledge that is useful to your field without the additional coursework required for a full business degree.
