The mission of the Department of Mathematics is to provide an educational experience in which students learn and develop quantitative skills that will facilitate learning long after they have left the classroom.

The faculty provide high-quality instruction and numerous opportunities for research collaborations. Upper-level classes are small enough to allow close interaction between students and faculty members. Interested students may also find opportunities for independent studies on topics of interest or to work with faculty members on student research projects.

The Department provides six different programs: Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematics for Secondary Education, Quantitative EconomicsData Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. Each provides a balance of theory and current practices, and culminates in a capstone experience that allows students to deepen their study on an original and independent project.
