Careers

Through Drake’s educational model, graduates can begin working as a nurse in a multitude of settings such as an outpatient practice, skilled nursing facilities, or the hospital.

Graduates will have the clinical skills to work in the following hospital departments:labor and delivery, operating room, emergency department, intensive care units (pediatric, behavioral health, neonatal, surgical, trauma, medical) pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, cardiology, medical and surgical units, to name a few.  

Nursing graduates can also work in any clinic setting such as obstetrics, family practice, urgent care, pediatrics, dermatology, and many other options. Nurses can be employed in different community settings such as hospice, home care, schools, public health departments, surgery centers, insurance companies, medical spas or even as health coaches. The possibilities are truly endless!

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers professional and career support to CPHS students.  Career Services provides the following general advising services:

  • Setting career goals
  • Career interests assessment
  • Major exploration
  • Advice on gaining experience in field of interest
  • Reviewing professional documents such as cover letter, CV, and resume
  • Mock interviews and advice on interviewing skills
  • Information on post baccalaureate programs
  • Individual appointments available
