Advising and Registration

We know that course registration may be a stressful time for college students. Our advising team makes every effort to be intentional, responsive, and supportive for our registering students.

What We Do:

• Advising: All students have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with an advising specialist or faculty advisor to discuss upcoming course options and develop academic plans. We encourage all students to meet with an advisor and/or utilized provided resources to construct a course plan that meets their academic, personal, and professional needs.  
• Registration Support: During the busiest registration timeframes our college/school dean’s office staff and advising specialists are online when registration opens at 7am fielding student questions or concerns. We integrate registration tips, tutorials, resources, and more into Blueprint for Success for our entering first year students and share timely information with continuing students through class visits and/or email communication.

• Encourage Advising
• Remind them to be patient
• Ask them about their “Parallel Plan”– parallel plan is another word for “Plan B” or alternate plan.
