More than a PharmD

You can add value to your PharmD degree by taking advantage of our additional curricular options.  We offer dual degrees in the following areas:

  • PharmD/JD (Law)
  • PharmD/MBA (Master of Business Administration)
  • PharmD/MPA (Master of Public Administration)
  • PharmD/MSLD (Master of Science in Leadership Development
  • PharmD/MPH (Master of Public Health in partnership with Des Moines University)

You can choose to add one of our numerous minors or concentrations to your pharmacy degree.  We offer a special concentration for PharmD students in the area of diabetes care, or you can choose from a variety of other areas!

IPA LogoIowa is one of the most innovative and forward-thinking states when it comes to pharmacy.  When you study pharmacy at Drake, you'll have opportunities to work with the Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA), which is based here in Des Moines.  IPA is a leader in promoting the advancement of pharmacy practice through collaboration, advocacy, innovation, education, engagement, leadership and positive patient outcomes - all values we share here at Drake!

 

Looking for new experiences?

As a Drake pharmacy student, you can travel all over the United States and around the world to complete your Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs or rotations), in your P4 year.  We have over 600 rotation sites in 33 states and 6 countries, so you can have diverse hands-on experiences as you prepare for your future career.

Our students thrive on engaging with the community in many different ways!  Whether it is participating in one of our many pharmacy student organizations, or campus-wide clubs and orgnizations, you can find like-minded people who will help you get involved in your passions.  Our campus organizations include a wide variety of international organizations, which provide connections to cultural diversity and global perspectives for all students.
