Research in psychology and neuroscience is aimed at understanding cognitive processes, behavior, and the brain.

Scientists in all areas of the disciplines, including clinical, cognitive, social, developmental and others share a common interest in understanding these processes. The knowledge we gain is used to improve many aspects of life, including health, education, and business.

The disciplines of psychology and neuroscience encompass many research topics and techniques. This diversity is reflected in the research interests of the psychology and neuroscience faculty at Drake.

There are several ways for you to get involved in research at Drake, including the option to receive academic credit for your work. You are encouraged to talk with faculty members about their research to find a project of interest. Whether your goal is to become a practicing clinical psychologist or a researcher addressing fundamental questions about behavior, understanding how scientific research studies are designed, executed, and interpreted is a necessary part of your education, and there is no better way to acquire these skills than by getting involved with a research project.
