Drake Public Safety is committed to safeguarding our campus through professionalism, integrity, and service. We work closely with students, faculty, and staff to address concerns, prevent crime, and respond effectively to emergencies. Whether you are new to campus or a long-standing member of the community, we recognize that navigating campus life can bring both excitement and uncertainty. Our team is here to provide resources, guidance, and support to help you feel informed and prepared.

Our officers are trained not only in campus safety but also in community engagement, crisis intervention, first aid, and cultural awareness. We are here to listen, to help, and to protect.

We encourage all community members to take advantage of the safety programs and services available through our department. One of the most important tools is the Bulldog Alert System, which provides timely emergency notifications via text, voice, and email. We strongly recommend that you make sure you update your preferred contact information to ensure you receive critical alerts when needed.

We also encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the university’s Emergency Procedures Manual, which outlines how to respond to a variety of potential situations. Being informed is one of the most effective ways to enhance personal and community safety.

Drake Public Safety offers a range of educational programs and presentations for campus groups and departments, including topics such as active threat response, workplace violence awareness, and personal safety strategies. These sessions are available upon request and can be tailored to meet the needs of your group.

In addition, the university publishes an Annual Security Report in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act. This report includes campus crime statistics for the previous three years, along with detailed information about safety policies and procedures. The report is made available each year by October 1st and can be accessed through our website or at our office.
