SJMC Seniors launch True Blue Studio brand

Seniors in the Digital Media Production and Advertising capstones are launching an all-new brand this week, True Blue Studio. In the coming weeks, They’ll be releasing a variety of high quality programs on their YouTube channel, including live productions, talk shows, and thought-provoking videos. You can watch True Blue Studio’s first live show Out of the Blue now on YouTube.

T-D sports editor predicts Drake championship

Times-Delphic sports editor Serena Thiede worked with Illinois State’s student publication to write a collaborative sports story with all the other Missouri Valley sports editors about why they think their home team will win the MVC. Read how Thiede got it right!

Editor-in-Chief applications open for student media 

Are you interested in becoming an Editor-in-Chief of an award-winning student publication? Applications are now open through March 16 at 11:59 pm. Apply by submitting a resume, cover letter, references, and up to five samples of your work. Late applications will not be accepted. Interviews will be held on March 28th from 8 am to 11 am. Save the Date: J-Term Fair is March 12 

Mark your calendars for March 12 to stop by the J-term Fair! From 4:30-6:30 p.m., you can stop by Upper Olmsted to learn more about the travel seminars that will be offered in January 2026. See you there! 

Letters to Legislators

Come write letters to your legislators March 12 from 5–6 p.m. in Johansen Student Center, Room 230. This is a non-partisan space where students can make their voices heard. Letters and stamps will be provided, along with food.

Be a Dotdash Meredith Apprentice 

You can work for the largest magazine media company in America. The DotDash Meredith Apprenticeship Program allows ambitious journalists and graphic designers the opportunity to earn both academic credit and gain professional, portfolio-level work experience.   

Selected students commit to working 15-20 hours per week at DotDash Meredith both semesters of either their junior or senior year. Apprentices earn a minimum of $15 an hour as well as up to three credits per semester. 

To apply either share a Google Drive link or send an email to jeff.inman@drake.edu containing a cover letter, resume, and (if applicable) up to five work samples all contained in one PDF by 5 p.m. Fri., March 14.
