On-Campus, Off-Campus, or Online submissions

Who should audition/what the audition looks like:

  1. Students wishing to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in performance (ActingMusical Theatre,  or Teacher Certification) or a minor in Musical Theatre must audition for admission into the program.
  2. Students wishing to pursue a B.F.A. degree in Design and Technology must interview and present their portfolio for admission into the program.
  3. Student wishing to purse a B.A. degree or a minor besides Music Theatre do not need to audition.
  4. There is no prescreen audition 
  5. All auditions/interviews and submitted materials must be completed by Feb. 9, 2024

OFF CAMPUS Auditions/ Interviews - Feb. 5-7, 2024 in conjunction with the National Unified Theatre Auditions.  Palmer House Hilton, Chicago, IL.

Virtual / Online Submissions:
Audition videos and/or portfolio materials must be submitted by Feb. 9, 2024 through GetAccepted. Note: There is a fee for their service. If you believe this fee will present a financial barrier to you, please email theatre@drake.edu. 

Scholarship information:
When students audition/interview for acceptance into one of the B.F.A. degree programs, they are ALSO auditioning for possible Fine Arts Scholarship awards.

Musical theatre minors and B.A. majors are not eligible for Fine Arts scholarships.

Apply to Drake University!
We strongly encourage student to apply and seek admission to Drake University BEFORE auditioning (we will not accept any student into our program until applications are completed with Drake University).
