Dr. Joyce Njoroge is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Drake University Zimpleman College of Business School of Accounting. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree in Accounting from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and both a Master of Accounting (MAcc), and a Ph.D. in Accounting from Washington State University. Dr. Njoroge teaches Financial Accounting (Intermediate Accounting) I and II, Government and Not-for-Profit Accounting, Introduction to Financial Accounting, and Introduction to Managerial Accounting courses. She is the 2024 recipient of Drake University'sMadelyn M. Levitt Teacher of the YearAward.
Her primary research interests are in government and not-for-profit accounting, institutional investors, fraud, and education technology. She has published her work in several reputable journals, includingIssues in Accounting Education, Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting, and Financial Management, Journal of Learning in Higher Education, International Journal of Web-Based Learning and Teaching Technologies, International Research Journal of Applied Finance, International Journal of Cyber Ethics in Education,Financial Decisions Journal,andThe Accounting Educators’ Journal.Dr. Njoroge is a member of the American Accounting Association (AAA).
