No matter where your passion or simple curiosity lies—from global warming and human rights to economic conditions and world religions—learn more about foreign affairs and pressing international issues with Drake’s Principal Center for Global Citizenship.

Every year, the center sponsors dozens of free, open-to-the-public events covering a wide array of topics. PCGC has sponsored and co-sponsored close to 500 events since 2002 with total attendence of over 35,000. Prominent speakers have included Nobel Peace Prize winner Norman Borlaug, financier George Soros, Middle East negotiator Dennis Ross, former Mozambique President Joaquim Chissano, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and climate scientist James Hansen.

A panel of Jewish community leaders from Greater Des Moines will engage the audience in an introduction to Jewish culture and religion in the 21st century. All students are welcome to attend.

Scott Snyder is senior fellow for Korea studies and director of the program on U.S.-Korea policy at CFR. He serves as co-chair of the advisory council of the National Committee on North Korea and has provided advice to NGOs and humanitarian organizations active in North Korea.
