Morehouse Residence Hall is being transformed into the Johansen Student Center which will be a gathering space for more than 150 student organizations and a launch pad for the next generation of collaborators, change agents, and critical thinkers.

Monday - Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - Midnight
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. - Midnight
Building Uses:
Who can use Johansen Student Center?
Primarily use is for students. However, these rooms can be used by faculty and staff for their non-academic needs.
How to reserve these spaces?
Reservable rooms will be built into EMS and Outlook. We are working on technology to offer more flexibility in some of the reservable spaces. We will provide an update once that technology is in service.
Artwork:
Student Life, University Communications, and Unity Roundtable members are working with 3 selected artists for the development of murals to be installed in the Sammons Intercultural Commons on the ground floor. The below artists were selected through a formal RFP process. They are excited to get underway with Drake students to develop impactful art. Art installation anticipated March 2025.

Locker Availability:
There are multiple locations throughout the building with digital combination lock lockers throughout Johansen Student Center. These are all available to use on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Move-in Timeline:
Furniture from Workspace will be delivered and installed starting January 6, 2025.
Adamantine Spine Moving will be moving items starting January 13, 2025.
Adamantine Spine Moving will be moving staff and student organizations into the building starting January 21, 2025.
Building open for start of of the spring semester, Monday, January 27, 2025.
