As soon as system functionality allows, our office will work as quickly as possible to create summer federal award originations. We estimate that summer disbursements will start crediting students’ accounts on or after May 29th. After the Office of Student Accounts initiates a credit balance refund, it typically takes 3-5 days for funds to be delivered. We recommend that students enroll in direct deposit with Student Accounts to expedite the credit refund process.
Delayed Summer 2024 Federal Aid Disbursements
Due to changes to federal financial aid systems, summer 2024 semester disbursements for federal aid (Direct Loans, Pell Grants) will be delayed. Students who rely on financial aid refunds to pay for indirect summer costs (food, housing, transportation, etc.) should plan accordingly.

The Financial Aid Office continues to prepare 2024-2025 financial aid offers for students who are registered for summer 2024 or the P4 year. We appreciate your patience as we work to prepare these as quickly as possible. When you receive your 2024-2025 financial aid offer, make sure you complete all required steps for each type of loan (if you plan to borrow) so that your loans are ready to process when we can begin to do so.
The Office of Student Accounts will not assess any late fees on Summer/P4 charges because of delayed federal aid disbursements during the Summer 2024 term. We recognize the impact that federal delays are having on students, and our office is committing all available resources to minimize them.
