Drake Named a Top School in the Nation for Human Rights Law
Tuesday, September 17th, 2024
Drake University Law School earned an A+ ranking for human rights law in preLaw magazine, placing Drake among the top thirteen law schools in the nation for this field.
The publication based the rankings on law schools’ offerings in human rights law, including clinical programs, certificates, externships, partnerships, and courses. The results are reported in preLaw’s Back to School 2024 issue.
Professors Suzan Pritchett and Allison McCarthy devoted their summer to supporting Ukrainians who have fled the country due to the war with Russia. They provided invaluable assistance in applying for Temporary Protected Status, Re-parole, and assessing asylum eligibility. Additionally, they collaborated with Drake interns and the Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice to host a clinic in Chariton, Iowa, aimed at addressing the immigration challenges faced by Ukrainians.
