Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is Nov. 12-20, 2022, and Drake will host a number of events for students to learn and take action.

Students can:

  • Stop by the Olmsted Breezeway on Monday, Nov. 14 from 11:30am-12:30pm to meet with representatives from Next Course Food Recovery and Save the Children Action Network, two student organizations on campus, to learn about efforts to help address hunger and how they can get involved.
  • Attend a Fireside Chat on Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 6-7pm with student, faculty, and community partner representatives to learn about trends in food insecurity in and around campus, and initiatives to help address the issues.
  • Donate to a week-long canned food and personal hygiene drive. Donation bins will be located across campus. Donations will be shared among the Drake Little Free Pantries, the Drake Law School Food Pantry, and DMARC’s food pantries.
