The William S.E. Coleman Studio Theatre fund supports the improvement and maintenance of the Drake Theatre Department’s black box theatre. It was renamed to honor Professor William S. E. Coleman, a beloved director, playwright, actor, historian, and faculty member at Drake from 1966 - 2002.
The William S.E. Coleman Guest Artist Series provides funding to invite professional actors, directors, and playwrights to the Drake Department of Theatre Arts for one guest artist residency per school year. These three areas honor the legacy of William S.E. Coleman’s impact within the department during his 36 years at Drake, and the areas he was most recognized for on national and international levels.
