Verifications
The Office of the Registrar provides verification or proof of enrollment for loan deferments, insurance companies, potential employers, scholarships, schools, and other entities that need a student's enrollment verified for a particular period of time. Verification can only be provided for academic terms in which the student has completed registration.
Enrollment Verification
Enrollment data is available on the National Student Clearinghouse approximately one month after the start of each academic term. If you need verification before that time, please email your request to registrar@drake.edu.
After the initial reporting, enrollment status continues to be updated on a monthly basis. Please note that changes to student status (e.g., moving from half-time to full-time) will not be immediately reflected in Clearinghouse reports.
Current students may request a Certificate of Enrollment by following the instructions directly below.
Obtaining Your Enrollment Verification Certificate
Students occasionally need Drake to provide enrollment verification to a third party, such as an insurance company, a housing group, or a local YMCA or gym. Students can obtain an official enrollment verification certificate from the National Student Clearinghouse, which is an authorized enrollment verification agent for Drake. Students can access the certificate through myDrake.
Obtaining Your Enrollment Verification Certificate Instructions
Q: I was able to connect to the National Student Clearinghouse site and download my enrollment certificate, but the information is not for the correct semester.
A: Drake submits enrollment data to the National Student Clearinghouse at certain times of the year. The first enrollment data report typically does not occur until about one week prior to the start of the semester. Therefore, it is possible that, even though you may be registered for a given semester, the National Student Clearinghouse does not yet have that information. If you think this is the case, then contact the Office of the Registrar to obtain an enrollment certificate directly from them.
Q: What do I do if the information on the enrollment certificate that I downloaded from the National Student Clearinghouse has inaccurate information?
A: Contact the Office of the Registrar to obtain an enrollment certificate and discuss the inaccurate information that appears on the document from the Clearinghouse.
Q: Is there a charge for downloading an enrollment certificate from the National Student Clearinghouse?
A: No, the service is free.
Q: Can I give my parents or spouse third-party access to download an enrollment certificate on my behalf?
A: No, students cannot give their parents or spouse their own third-party access to the student's enrollment certificate.
Degree Verification
Students who need official verification of having met their degree requirements may order their official transcript, which will include degree information once the degree has been posted to their record. Students are encouraged to check their unofficial transcript on Self Service prior to requesting a transcript.
All transcripts will be sent immediately with current information at the time they are ordered.
Team & Club Verifications
The Office of the Registrar provides enrollment verification for official rosters of student athletic teams, clubs, and organizations. To ensure timely and efficient processing, please submit your request at least two weeks before the form due date. Please note that verification can only be provided for academic terms in which the student is officially registered.
Each student listed on the roster must include the following information:
- Full name as registered at Drake University.
- Drake ID number.
- Student's signature authorizing Drake University to release the requested information.
